Altonet can provide Virtual Private Networks to connect your branch offices and sites to each other or to a central site or head office.

Leased lines

• Fibre, minimum line speed is 2Mbps
• Microwave, minimum line speed is 512Kbps
• Wireless, minimum line speed is 512kbps
• Diginet or Ethernet, 64Kbps – 1792Kbps

Bandwidth access:

• CIR (committed information rate, being 1:1) or
• Contended (1:3, 1:10 or 1:20)

ADSL for small businesses and consumers

• Line speeds available are: 384Kbps, 512Kbps, 1Mbps, 4-10Mbps.
• Line speed is asynchronous and the maximum upload speed is 384Kbps, regardless of the download speed.
• Line can be provided by Altonet for the customer, or the customer can get the line directly from Telkom
• Cap is the maximum amount of information that can be transferred over the line, which is sold in Gb. e.g. 3Gb.
• Uncapped Business ADSL is also available.
• Uncapped Business ADSL is sold in access speed, not cap. E.g. 512Kbps.
• Up to 5 static IP addresses available on Business
• Two or more ADSL lines can be bonded for higher transfer rates

VPN

• Virtual Private Networks are provided to customers with dedicated access between its various companies/branches
• Can be provided on any of the above media (line types)
